There is a reason why Jeremy was appointed World Youth Ambassador & awarded Personality of the Year by The World Organization of Natural Medicine in 2012 and 2013. There is a reason why Jeremy’s live events sell out year after year. There is a reason why his online presence reaches millions of people around the world.

We have all had to sit in on a boring presentation at one time or another that may be informative but didn’t quite capture our attention. Jeremy has spent years creating a presentation that not only changes lives but also entertains at the same time.

Using thought provoking pictures displayed on a large screen to captivate students, his presentation has his audience laughing, pondering, and most importantly impacted.

In this highly praised and endorsed 90 minute student presentation Jeremy uses thought provoking pictures on a large projector screen to create what some of the most respected experts in the industry are calling a, "MUST SEE" presentation for students.

Jeremy is a professional speaker and author and is known throughout the country as having one of the most captivating and impactful mental health student presentations on the subject.

There are 5 parts to this 90 minute presentation:

Part 1: Reach out for help

  • At the very beginning of each presentation Jeremy emphasizes to the students how imperative it is for any student who is suffering with any kind of mental health issue to reach out to their school counsellor, parents/guardians or medical professional for help. In fact, this is a common theme throughout the entire presentation and is mentioned several times.

Part 2: Jeremy's story

  • Jeremy briefly mentions the struggle he endured growing up with a diagnosis of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety.

Part 3: What is stress and anxiety?

  • In part 3 Jeremy explains what anxiety and stress is on a fundamental level. He does this in a very captivating and entertaining manner using pictures on a large projector screen to help illustrate what is being talked about. He emphasizes how some stress and anxiety is absolutely normal and is a reaction to some kind of perceived danger. He points out that sometimes stress and a little anxiety is normal even if there is no perceived danger (i.e. the anxiety associated with giving a presentation or writing an exam). He also explains that when anxiety or an abnormal amount of stress starts to interfere with our daily lives then it's time to reach out for professional help.

Part 4: Top 5 behaviours that contribute to stress and anxiety

  • In this part Jeremy introduces the top five behaviours that can contribute to stress and anxiety.

  • Behaviours talked about in this part are:

    • bullying/cyber bullying

    • violent video games (or playing any kind of video game for too long)

    • overuse of technology such as smart phones, etc.

    • alcohol consumption or marijuana use

    • judging/gossiping

Part 5: Top 5 techniques that will help reduce stress and anxiety

  • In this part Jeremy talks about the importance of calming the mind. Some topics include the importance of:

    • exercise

    • how we talk/text (positive words vs negative words)

    • not spending too much time indoors

    • not taking things others say personally

    • catching negative thought patterns

This part of the presentation also showcases techniques to help students:

  • relax during exams

  • reduce stress and anxiety

  • sleep better

  • focus better

“Simply one of the best presentations on the subject of mental health in North America. How Jeremy takes the subject of stress and anxiety and adds creativity to it is amazing.

Every single school needs this presentation!

It’s obvious why Jeremy was appointed, World Youth Ambassador by The World Organization of Natural Medicine. HIGHLY recommended!"

"I don't know what I would have done without this presentation.

I was in such a dark place. This presentation helped me understand what anxiety really is. To say it was an eye opener is an understatement.

This not only helped me, it saved my life."

“On Feb. 20, 2017, the students and staff of Heritage Collegiate in Lethbridge, were lucky enough to have Jeremy Bennett present at their school on the topics of stress and anxiety. From the beginning of his presentation you could hear a pin drop. Students and staff were certainly engaged in what he had to say. Not often are rural schools able to avail of such a super speaker who students can relate to. It is not just another talk about mental health, but Jeremy reveals his personal struggles with mental health challenges and provides practical techniques that have worked for him and others. His slideshow and magic help bring some comic relief during this very powerful presentation.

Comments from students, staff and parents were very positive and thought that presentations such as these are so worthwhile and should be provided more often. We need speakers who are dealing with or have overcome their personal struggles to show that there are things that individuals can do to help themselves and that it's OK to seek out help from others.

Jeremy’s presentation was well polished, funny, informative and provided great strategies for those who are dealing with stress and anxiety and for those who need help. We really need more presentations like this in our schools!”

About Jeremy

Having been diagnosed at a young age with a severe form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, anxiety, and clinical depression, Jeremy knows first hand the effects of mental illness.

In 2006, Jeremy graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with a degree in Psychology and Philosophy.

In 2010, he published his first book, The Power of the Mind: How I Beat OCD. In this book, he exposed his life living with a severe form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and what he did to overcome a struggle most believed he could not. This self-help book was published by Flanker Press and was released worldwide.

He has been speaking on the topic of stress and anxiety for over ten years and has produced three national and international television documentaries on the power of the mind. His work has given him the opportunity to share his message throughout Canada, the USA and the UK for tens of thousands of people.

Jeremy has been featured on many national and international television networks such as CTV, Global TV, Vision TV, CBC, TSN, and TSN2.

In 2011, he was selected to represent Canada during Mental Illness Awareness Week and because of his worldwide impact in the field of anxiety he was appointed, World Youth Ambassador by The World Organization of Natural Medicine in 2012.

Because of his contribution in the field of mental health he was awarded, Personality of the Year by The World Organization of Natural Medicine in 2013.

In 2014, he released his second book, The Solution: Learn How to Truly Beat Stress & Anxiety. This book was published by Motivational Press in Los Angeles and released worldwide.

His presentation is continually being endorsed by hundreds of Principals, Vice Principals, guidance counsellors, teachers, Psychologists, students in addition to some of the most respected experts in the field.

In Jeremy's latest book, he reveals the myths of anxiety, unveils the mysteries behind the causes, and once and for all shows the reader the not-so-obvious cure to calm the mind and rid the sufferer of unnecessary stress and anxiety.

"Everyone needs to read this book! If you suffer with any kind of stress, anxiety, depression, or mental health issue this could be the answer you are looking for."

Dr. George Grant
Former Senior Health Consultant for the FDA, CDC, & Health Canada

At the age of twelve, he developed a severe case of anxiety and an overwhelming need to exert control over it. Doctors said it was one of the worst cases of OCD they had ever seen. Furthermore, they told him it was incurable, that the incessant counting, tapping, opening and closing of doors—and myriad other repetitive behaviours—would stay with him for the rest of his life.

They were wrong.

Often a crippling mental disorder, OCD is the fourth most commonly diagnosed mental illness. This is the incredible true story of one man’s triumph over it.

"My son's anxiety was so bad he wouldn't even go to school. This presentation changed everything!"

Is there anything controversial in this presentation? Will a student ever leave with the wrong idea as to how to deal with stress or anxiety?

When we say this presentation is squeaky clean, we mean it! We know that a presentation on mental health, especially for a student population can be a little tricky. That’s why this presentation does not mention trigger words like “medication”, or things that would even remotely influence a student to "self-diagnose", etc. Remember, this presentation is strictly about educating students on what stress and anxiety is in addition to providing simple, yet very effective techniques to help calm their minds. In fact, Jeremy starts off every presentation urging anyone who is suffering with any kind of anxiety or stress to reach out to their school counsellor, parent/guardian or a medical professional.

There is nothing in this entire presentation that can even remotely influence a student to act in a way that can hinder their health. This presentation has been highly endorsed and praised by Ministers of Education, Principals, Vice Principals, teachers, staff, parents, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Therapists and of course students.

There is absolutely nothing in this presentation that will or can give students the wrong impression as to how to deal with their stress or anxiety.

Has this presentation been reviewed by teachers, Ministers of education, etc.?

It certainly has! This presentation is highly endorsed by school counsellors, Principals, Vice Principals, teachers, staff, mental health professionals, parents and of course students. See a short sample (we have hundreds!) of our testimonials above and below!

Is there a question/answer part?

Because of the nature of the presentation students typically don’t ask the questions they really want to ask in front of other students. So for that reason there is no question/answer period. However, Jeremy always sticks around after every presentation in case any students want to approach Jeremy one on one to ask any questions.

Once again, Jeremy always emphasizes to every student that if they are suffering with any kind of anxiety or stress that reaching out for professional help is of upmost importance.

Examples of questions that Jeremy would answer one on one look something like this:

  • “Can you give me some advice on how to focus during an exam?”
  • “Is some anxiety normal before giving a school presentation”?
  • “What are some techniques that will help me calm my mind while studying for a test”?
  • “How does violent video games contribute to stress/anxiety”?

If a student happens to ask Jeremy a question that could be deemed, “controversial” Jeremy’s response 100% of the time is, “that’s a question you should talk to your parents/guardians or a medical professional about”.

Examples of questions that Jeremy would answer, “that’s a question you should talk to your parents/guardians or a medical professional about” look something like this:

  • "Jeremy, I think I have an anxiety disorder. Should I consider medication?"
  • "Jeremy, I think I may have OCD, if I tell you my symptoms do you think you could tell me if I have OCD or not?"
  • "I am feeling better lately, should I ween myself off of my medication?"

Once again, there is nothing in this entire presentation that can even remotely influence a student to act in a way that can hinder their health. This presentation has been highly endorsed and praised by Ministers of Education, Principals, Vice Principals, teachers, staff, parents, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Therapists, and of course students.

As a school counsellor, Principal or VP there is always the fear of hiring a speaker on mental health that may, even in the slightest way project the wrong message, even indirectly. Trust us when we say we have this covered! Jeremy has been perfecting this presentation for 10+ years and has nothing but raving reviews.

Is there any foul language in this presentation?

Absolutely not! Never. This presentation is completely student friendly! Always! In fact, any of Jeremy’s corporate, business, or public presentations would never have any foul language. Remember, this presentation has been reviewed by Ministers of Education and hundreds of Principals, Vice Principals, teachers, staff and parents and continues to receive raving reviews!

Can parents/guardians attend?

Absolutely! Please note that parents/guardians must register as well.

Jeremy uses a large screen during his presentations. What’s shown on the screen?

Thought provoking pictures. Although the subject matter is a serious one, there are some funny parts in the presentation that helps engage students and keeps them entertained.

Why only ages 12 - 18?

Students learn at a different pace according to their age. For that reason this presentation is designed for ages 12 - 18.

Does each attendee techically have to be a "student"?

No. As long as the person is 12 - 18 that's fine. Keep in mind, parents or guardians of any age can attend as well! Note* They must register as well!

"I have heard this presentation 3 times and I always get something new out of it. My anxiety was literally taking over my life. This presentation helped me more than I can explain."

"The students were enthralled with what Jeremy had to say because he connected with them by talking about the realities of their world and also shared his own personal stories which I feel made it more real for the students.

He did not sugar-coat the situation, yet made everyone feel that stress and anxiety is not something to hide, to be ashamed of and he gave advice that could be accomplished by everyone.

Our students have been talking about the presentation ever since Jeremy visited our school and they definitely have a more positive outlook on life.

Problem solving skills have also increased dramatically!"

"On a beautiful March afternoon we had the pleasure of having Jeremy Bennett come and speak to the students, staff and parents of Baccalieu Collegiate.

This session was one of the best that we ever had in our school in the 15 years that we have been opened.  Energetic, honest, straightforward, insightful, educational, informative and powerful are a few of the adjectives that come to mind when I think of this  presentation.

You could hear a pin drop in the gymnasium while Jeremy was speaking and he had the audience hooked from the minute he started to speak.

He captivated every person there and his messages were more than powerful and impacted all that were fortunate enough to have been in attendance.

Jeremy's approach to delivering what needs to be heard is done in a manner that reaches the ears and minds of those that are lucky enough to hear him.

Thank you Jeremy Bennett and I sure hope that you get the opportunity to share with others."

"I heard many wonderful reviews from my colleagues who had already seen Jeremy's presentation and was so excited to have an opportunity to have Jeremy Bennett present at our school. He touched on topics that are so prevalent to today's youth and did so in a manner that was captivating and informative. He relayed such important information through his own personal experiences as a youth which enabled him to quickly connect with his audience.

Even more importantly, Jeremy provided his audience with coping strategies, techniques and above all, hope, hope that not only are there others who may be struggling with the same or similar issues, but that there are so many individuals who rise above and overcome the many challenges that life so often throws our way.

Thank you so much Jeremy for being so wonderful to work with and for visiting our school. I so hope that you continue to share your message with others!"
